MASSMUTUAL TV AD
SERIES SURFACES STORIES OF PEOPLE
WHO LOOKED OUT FOR EACH OTHER IN 2017
|
|
“At a time dominated by negative news,
we’re giving a voice to the people who look out for each other.”
-- MassMutual.
|
|
MassMutual's latest advertising campaign celebrates "positive stories of 2017 that were overlooked or drowned out in the noise of the year’s political divide, natural disasters, and other major tragedies." MassMutual created an incredible series of short films that were aired on CNN, The Super Bowl and during the Winter Olympics. One video in particular summarizes the entire series in an "uplifting two-minute film that features real families, communities, and strangers who reached out to help each other.

The Centre has an
Alliance
with the Forum and as part of that we are helping to spread the word about this conference.
The Forum's "collective impact model engages people and organizations both globally and locally, and is operationalized through connectivity, conversation, continuous learning and community." One theme from last year's conference was
Bold(er) Conversations.
Below is a video (featuring several GDIB Expert Panelists) summarizing the need for bolder conversations in the workplace.

This year's conference is sure to have even more greatness in store.

EXPERT PANELISTS ON THE MOVE
|
|
Congratulations to the Expert Panelists featured in this issue. All have recently changed positions. There are more announcements to come (some we can’t mention yet and others we may not know about.
Please let us know
).
Bernardo Ferdman
, after 24
½
years as a professor at Alliant International University and simultaneously consulting, has moved into full-time consulting and coaching. He is also editing a book on inclusive leadership (which includes chapters written by various expert panelists).
Herschel Herndon
is now Vice President, United States Country Head, Diversity & Inclusion, of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NPC) having formerly been a consultant and before that was formerly the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President, Local Market Development with Best Buy.
Lillian Tsai
merged her company with Solid Ground Consulting (Portland, Oregon), an organizational development firm, and is now their lead Equity and Inclusion consultant.
We aren’t speculating, of course, BUT perhaps being an Expert Panelist has contributed to their success!? We know we can’t take credit, but ... I was once consultant to an organization with a Diversity Business Council (called the D.B.C.). We noticed that several members received promotions to Vice President. The word (privately amongst ourselves) soon became: “
Join the DBC and become a VP!
” Perhaps there is something to one’s work in D&I leading to career success. I'd like to think so. -Julie
