Judith Katz, Ed.D.

Fueled by her passion for addressing systemic barriers, Judith Katz has distinguished herself as a thought leader, practitioner, educator, and strategist for more than 40 years. Recognized with the Organization Development Network Lifetime Achievement Award and as one of 40 Pioneers of Diversity by Profiles in Diversity Journal, Judith has been a leader in inclusion, diversity, and organization development. As Executive Vice President of The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc.—one of Consulting magazine’s Seven Small Jewels in 2010—she has helped organizations around the globe to leverage people’s differences, increase engagement, and transform workplace cultures. Together with Frederick A. Miller, she has co-created many key concepts in her fields, including the Conscious Actions for Inclusion, a foundational tool for creating inclusive collaborative workplaces and achieving higher organizational performance. As the author of six books, Judith’s writing has broken new ground in OD and other fields.  Her landmark book, White Awareness: Handbook for Anti-Racism Training (1978), was the first systematic training program to address racism from a white perspective. Her courageous autobiographical work, No Fairy Godmothers, No Magic Wands: The Healing Process After Rape (1984), was among the first to assist rape survivors in the recovery process. She has co-authored with Fred Miller four books on diversity, inclusion and individual, team and organization performance: Safe Enough to Soar: Accelerating Trust, Collaboration and Inclusion in the Workplace; Opening Doors to Teamwork and Collaboration: 4 Keys that Change EVERYTHING; Be BIG: Step Up, Step Out, Be Bold; and The Inclusion Breakthrough: Unleashing the Real Power of Diversity. Many organizations have honored Judith with awards and accolades: in addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, OD Network has also awarded her with the Outstanding Achievement in Global Work Award (2012) and the Larry Porter Award for Communication OD Knowledge (2009) and multiple awards for the best contribution to the OD Practitioner Journal. International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals named her a Legend of Diversity in 2012. Judith currently serves on the Fielding Graduate University Board of Trustees.
