Hiroko Tatebe founded Global Organization for Leadership and Diversity (GOLD) in 2006 to foster professional development opportunities for women in Japan and to cultivate professional exchanges between Asia and the United States. In today’s changing global business environment, Hiroko’s vision to promote cross-continental exchanges through strategic and innovative initiatives is more relevant than ever. Hiroko oversees program development and is responsible for all aspects of operating the organization. She has successfully orchestrated inspirational and motivational events in both Japan and the USA, which continue to provide professional global exchanges.
Hiroko is a former member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank of California where she was the first and only woman on the Board of Directors. She was responsible for complete financial, operations and administrative management, and Hiroko successfully led professional teams with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds. Her extensive banking experience includes management in finance, investment, domestic and international operations, product development, and compliance.
With a proven corporate management record, Hiroko’s leadership roles in various professional and civic organizations resulted in several honors, including Outstanding Business Woman of the Year by the Los Angeles Chapter of Women in Business and an Affiliated Businesswomen Member of the Year by the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Legend of Diversity Award from the International Society of Diversity and Inclusion Professionals and the Legacy of Leadership Award from Spelman College.
Active in many professional and community organizations, Hiroko’s participation has included President of Financial Women International, the Board of Governor of Japan America Society of Southern California, a Board Member of the California Bankers Association and Advisory Board member of the NAWBO Los Angeles Chapter, as well an officer of the board positions Women in Business, Organization of Women Executives and Women in Transportation.
Hiroko is a native of Tokyo and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. She holds a Certified Financial Planner™ designation.
